Find your rhythm...

Music for social and communicative development...

Anyone can make music! Learn what you need to do to make music together - listening, responding, creating, improvising, and working together as a group are all encouraged through simple rhythm games. One of the most important skills in developing creativity is the ability to experiment, to take calculated risks, and to develop resilience in the face of 'mistakes'. The non-threatening environment of a drum circle offers a great practice space for these skills, which can later be applied to other forms of learning.

A wide variety of drums and percussion instruments are used, and by the end of the workshop, a full percussion 'band' will have been formed, creating spontaneous rhythmic music together. What's more, each person is encouraged to think for themselves and find their own special 'part' in the rhythm - just as important and valuable as everyone else's. A fun, musical, energising confidence builder!
